RN Recap: Reds have to settle for a .500 homestand

The Reds were hoping to finish off a winning week against the two best teams in the National League, but they had to settle for a 3-3 homestand. The Reds batters could not figure out Hyun-Jin Ryu, as he lowered his ERA to 1.52 after seven shutout innings against the Reds. Tanner Roark gave the Reds five solid innings, but the Reds bullpen had a rare poor performance, allowing six earned runs over four innings.

RN Recap: Votto and Puig lead the Reds to third consecutive road win

Votto and Puig both got the Reds off to a big start in the first inning. Anthony DeSclafani could not hold the early lead and struggled through four innings. Eugenio Suarez hit a game tying home run in the fifth inning, and Derek Dietrich had a bloop RBI single in the seventh inning to give the Reds the lead for good.

RN Recap: Reds shutout Giants for second consecutive road win

Luis Castillo did not have his best command on Friday night, but he gave the Reds another dominating outing as he held the Giants scoreless for six innings. The Reds bats continued their recent surge of late, minus the no-hitter on Tuesday. Nick Senzel and Yasiel Puig lead the Reds with two hits and two runs batted in each. Road wins have been difficult for the Reds this season, but they have now won back-to-back road games and improved to 8-14 on the road.
