RN Recap: Reds have to settle for a .500 homestand

The Reds were hoping to finish off a winning week against the two best teams in the National League, but they had to settle for a 3-3 homestand. The Reds batters could not figure out Hyun-Jin Ryu, as he lowered his ERA to 1.52 after seven shutout innings against the Reds. Tanner Roark gave the Reds five solid innings, but the Reds bullpen had a rare poor performance, allowing six earned runs over four innings.
Redleg Nation Game Recap Jesse Winker

RN Recap: Jesse Winker does it again, leads Reds to win!

The Reds got off to a great start in Queens when they scored four runs in the second inning. However, starting pitcher Tanner Roark was unable to hold that lead as walks burned him tonight. Jesse Winker hit a 415 foot blast in the top of the ninth off Mets closer Edwin Diaz to give the Reds a 5-4 lead. Raisel Iglesias finished off the Mets with two scoreless innings, including striking out the final four hitters.

Reds vs. Padres – April 20, 2019

The Reds are last in team batting average (.192), on-base percentage (.256), walks received (46), and 26th out of 30 in OPS (.628). As this season began, the expectation was that this offense would be among the best in the National League, if not all of baseball. So what’s happening here?

RN Recap: Derek Dietrich saves the Reds again!

The Reds offense was dominated for most of the night in San Diego by Padres' pitching. The Reds at one point had 16 consecutive batters retired and had just three hits entering the 11th inning. It only took one mighty swing off the bat by Derek Dietrich to change the outcome of this game. Dietrich destroyed a 3-1 pitch into the right field seats to give the Reds a 3-1 lead. Zack Duke and Michael Lorenzen finished off another outstanding night of Reds pitching to secure the Reds second consecutive win.
