Dioner Navarro was 2-for-4 with a walk and a grand slam. Neftali Soto was 2-for-4 with 2 doubles and a run scored. Didi Gregorius was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI. Felix Perez had two hits in 5 at-bats, including a double.
Tim Gustafson allowed all 8 runs, 5 runs in the 1st, over 4.1 innings. He gave up 9 hits, 3 walks, and struck out 4. Travis Webb, Nick Christiani and Bill Bray pitched 3.2 shutout relief innings. Billy Hamilton was 0-2, but walked 3 times. He stole 2 bases (thrown out once). He now has 23 stolen bases in AA, giving him 127 for the year (thrown out 27 times). That was the offensive highlight for the Blue Wahoos.

Minor League Player of the Day: 8th round draft pick, Billings 3B, Seth Mejian-Brean had a pretty good doubleheader, going 4-7 with a double and homer, scoring 3 runs and driving 3 in. Thus far in the Billings season, he’s hitting at a .333/.436/636 clip in 10 games.
Columbus 5 – Louisville 4 10 innings
Xavier Paul (LH hitting OF) continued his hot streak since coming to the Bats. His OPS at Syracuse was .888, and he’s moved that up to 1.180 at Louisville. He was 4-5 last night. Corky Miller was 2-3 with a homer, Nefi Soto was 1-4 with a homer.
Tim Gustafson had a good start for the Bats, going 5.1 shutout innings, allowing 2 hits and 3 walks while striking out 3. But the bullpen faltered…Nick Christiani .2 IP 3 H 3 R 3 ER 1 BB 1 HR (and to show how stupid the hold stat was, he was credited with his 7th hold), Travis Webb and Jordan Smith both threw scoreless innings, but Donnie Joseph got a blown save with an inning where he gave up 2 hits and a walk, while giving up a run. Kanekoa Texeira took the loss, going .2, giving up the winning run on 2 hits and a walk.
Jacksonville 5 – Pensacola 4 10 innings
Ryan LaMarre was 2-3 with a double, Miguel Rojas was 2-5, and Donald Lutz, in his first game as a Blue Wahoo, went 1-5 with a homer.
Wirfin Obispo started and went 4 innings, allowing 3 runs on 3 hits. Brian Pearl threw a scoreless inning, Curtis Partch threw 1.2 scoreless innings, and Justin Freeman threw a scoreless frame.
The loss went to Mark Serrano, who gave up an unearned run in the 10th.

Gwinnett 8 – Louisville 5
In their first game back from the all-star break, every Bat starter had at least one hit including the starting pitcher Gustafson. However, the pitching couldn’t stop the Braves from scoring in 6 different innings.
Didi Gregorius made his AAA debut at shortstop (with Paul Janish sliding over to 2B.) Gregorius was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Henry Rodriguez also had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with an RBI. Xavier Paul made his Bats debut (1-for-4 with a double and a run scored) after being picked up by the Reds. His line with AAA Syracuse was .315/.376/.512 in 213 at-bats.
Starter Tim Gustafson gave up 4 runs on 8 hits in 4 innings of work. Of the 5 Louisville pitchers to pitch Thursday, only Donnie Joseph pitched a scoreless inning.
Former Reds prospect Buddy Carlyle got the win for the Gwinnett Braves.

It was a bullpen night for the Bats, Tim Gustafson started, but only went 4 innings, allowing 7 hits, 2 walks and 2 runs. Carlos Fisher threw a scoreless inning, J.J. Hoover got the win with a hitless 8th, and Donnie Joseph picked up his 3rd save (and kept his ERA at 0) with a scoreless 9th.
Brian Peacock was the only Wahoo with 2 hits, as they only garnered 6 on the night.

Minor League Player of the Day: Redleg Nation Spotlight player, Tucker Barnhart had a terrific day at the plate. Barnhart was 5-for-5 with a double, and 2-run homerun and 3 runs scored. He also threw out an opposing base runner trying to steal second base. Tucker is having a scorching June, batting a .457/.510/.783 slash line in 13 games.
Paul Janish was 2-for-2 with a double, a homerun, 3 walks, 3 runs scored, and 2 RBI. Cody Puckett was 3-for-4 with a walk, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI.
