I’ve returned from vacation to warmer climates. It’s time to catch up with what has been going on down on the Red’s farm teams over the last few weeks while I was away. AAA Louisville Bats Matt Magill, who came to the Reds from the Dodgers in the Chris Heisey trade, had season ending Tommy […]
Today we’ll check in down on the farm and see who got off to quick starts and how some of the top prospects did the first week of the season. Remember, these are pretty small sample sizes, so one good game or start can change these numbers pretty quick. AAA Louisville Bats The Bats started […]
A quick late season look at what’s going on down on the farm. AAA Louisville Bats The Reds finally dipped down into their pool of good SP pitching prospects at AA and promoted Jon Moscot, who had a 3.13 ERA in AA, to the Bats. He did well in his first start allowing just 2 […]
Time once again to check out what is going on down on the farm. AAA Louisville Bats The Reds have released OF Ryan LaMarre to make room on the 40 man roster for Cuban P Raisel Iglesias who was assigned to the AZL Reds. LaMarre is a 25 year of CF who was a 2nd […]

Nick Christiani threw 3 shutout innings of relief, allowing only 1 hit. Bill Bray pitched to 3 batters in the 8th and didn’t retire anyone. Bray is likely done for the year.

Minor League Player of the Day:: Pensacola SS Billy Hamilton went 2-5 and stole 4 bases. That brings him to 154 stolen bases on the season. But even more important is that he’s been consistent from A+ to AA. In about half as many ABs at AA, his OPS is within 10 points of what it was at A+ and his OBP has gone up a little. Over the entire season, his OBP is over .400 and that, my friends, is exciting. There’s an interesting article on Billy in today’s Enquirer.
Added Note: Redleg Nation Spotlight Player, Sean Buckley, was named Midwest League Batter of the Week last week. Buckley batted .429 with three home runs and 11 runs batted in. He added five doubles and posted a slugging percentage of .929.
Louisville had the night off.
