Bryson Smith went 3 for 5 with a 3B. Beau Mills went 2 for 7 with 2 2B. Josh Fellhauer went 2 for 5 with 2 BB. Donald Lutz went 2 for 6 with a BB. Mark Fleury walked 3 times.

Chad Rogers, 1.99 ERA, got no decision as he went 5.2 IP and allowed 2 R on 5 H and 1 BB with 8 K. Wilkin De La Rosa (1 IP), Justin Freeman (2 IP), and Curtis Partch (2 IP) each added scoreless relief outings. Michael Griffin took the loss allowing 4 R over 2 IP of relief.

Mobile 4 – Pensacola 1 (DH Game 1, 7 Innings)

David Vidal went 2 for 3. Donald Lutz went 2 for 4. Mark Fleury walked twice. Andrew Means doubled. Billy Hamilton stole his 142 base.

Kyle Lotzkar, 5.21 ERA, got the loss as he went 4 IP and allowed 3 R on 2 H and 2 BB with 2 K. Chris Manno added 1 IP of scoreless relief.

Pensacola 10 – Mobile 2 (DH Game 2, 7 Innings)

David Vidal went 3 for 4 with 2 HR. Beau Mills went 3 for 4 with a HR. Donald Lutz went 3 for 4. Brodie Greene went 2 for 4 with 2B. Bryson Smith doubled.

Mark Serrano, 3.66 ERA, got the win as he went 5.2 IP and allowed 1 R on 5 H and 0 BB with 7 K.

Minor League Player of the Day: Louisville OF Cody Puckett was 2-5 with a double and homer. His numbers in AAA are .248/.313/.404. His OBP and SLG are down substantially from what he was putting up at AA.

AAA

Toledo 10 – Louisville 9

Cody Puckett was 2-5 with a double/homer, Felix Perez was 2-4 with 2 doubles and 2 walks, Corky Miller was 2-3, Henry Rodriguez was 2-4 with a homer, Mike Costanzo was 2-6 with a triple, and Denis Phipps was 2-6.

Travis Webb threw a scoreless inning, the rest of the pitching staff was pretty awful.

AA

Tennessee 6 – Pensacola 3 (7 innings DH)

No one for the Blue Wahoos had more than one hit, Bryson Smith had a triple.

Chris Manno threw 2 scoreless innings of relief.

Tennessee 3 – Pensacola 2 (7 innings DH)

David Vidal went 2-3 with a double, Mark Fleury went 2-3 with a homer.

Tony Cingrani struggled some in his start, going 4.1, allowing 3 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 3. He gave up 3 runs, but only 1 was earned. Josh Ravin threw 1.2 scoreless innings, but did give up 3 hits and a walk.

Billy Hamilton had his 4th error since being promoted. That gives him 29 errors in 94 games in the field. If the Reds are going to move him to the OF, I don’t understand what they’re waiting for.

I’ve been a Reds fan since the late ’60’s, with my luck of being able to attend plenty of games at Riverfront during the BRM era. I was sitting in the Green Seats in the OF when Pete came home in ’84 and was in the Red seats when Glenn Braggs reached over the fence in ’90 to beat the Pirates. I have had many favorites from Jim Maloney to Johnny Bench, Barry Larkin, Adam Dunn, and Jay Bruce.

Denis Phipps went 2 for 4 with 2 2B and a BB. Mike Costanzo went 1 for 3 with a BB.

Pedro Villarreal, 4.09 ERA, got the loss as he went 4 IP and allowed 6 R, 5 ER, on 9 H and 2 BB with 1 K. Carlos Fisher (1.2 IP), Josh Judy (2 IP), and Donnie Joseph (1 IP) each added scoreless relief outings.

Mobile 6 – Pensacola 2

Billy Hamilton walked three times, stole a base, was caught stealing, and committed a fielding error. Beau Mills went 2 for 4. Ryan LaMarre went 2 for 4 with a HBP. Mark Fleury doubled.

Daniel Corcino, 3.25 ERA, got the loss as he went 5 IP and allowed 6 R, 4 ER, on 6 H and 2 BB with 4 K. Wilkin De La Rosa (2 IP) and Brian Pearl (1 IP) each added scoreless relief outings.
