Minor League Player of the Day: Logan Uxa went 4-for-4 with a walk, a double and two runs scored for the AZL Reds.
Chad Rogers retired the first 10 batters that he faced, and kept the Clippers scoreless until a rough 5th inning, where he gave up 4 runs on 4 hits. An error led to one of the runs. Rogers helped himself out by picking a runner off 1st base for the final out of the inning. Overall, he finished with a line of 5.1 innings, 6 runs (4 earned) and 6 hits. He walked one and struck out 7.
Billy Hamilton (2-for-3, 2B, BB) had two of the team’s five hits, stole his 68th base, and scored two of the team’s 3 runs.
Daniel Renken went 6 innings, allowing 7 hits, walking no one, and striking out 4. Trevor Bell faced 4 batters in the 9th inning, hitting one batter and striking out the other three.
With the bases loaded in the bottom of the 2nd inning, Mike Costanzo (2-for-3, 2B, BB) had a bases-clearing double in the 6-run frame. Travis Mattair and Ryan LaMarre each had a pair of singles and scored a run in 4 at-bats.

Minor League Player of the Day: There were solid starting pitching performances at the top three levels of the organization, but I’m going to go with the guy they couldn’t get out. Jon Matthews was 3-for-3 with a walk for the Billing Mustangs. Matthews hit a homerun and also stole a base.
The Chiefs pitching scattered 6 singles and one double to limit the Bats to two runs. Billy Hamilton (1-for-4, RBI, CS) had an RBI single in the 3rd inning. Mike Hessman (1-for-4, 2B, RBI) added an RBI double in the 7th inning to give Louisville a 2-0 lead.
Louisville starter Chad Rogers threw 6 shutout innings, allowing 6 hits, walking 1 and striking out 4. Bats bullpen arms that have seen time with the Reds allowed a run in each of the final three innings: one run scored on Jose Arredondo in the 7th, and the other two runs belonged to Pedro Villarreal.
Daniel Renken allowed just two hits and two walks over 6 shutout innings while striking out four. Lee Hyde added a perfect inning of relief, striking out one.
Mike Costanzo (3-for-5, 2 2B, RBI) and Travis Mattair (3-for-4, 2B, R, RBI) had three hits each. Ryan LaMarre (2-for-3, BB, RBI) reached base three times.
Games Played on 7/13/2013 Minor League Player of the Day: 20 year old Billings CFer, Jonathan Reynoso, went 4-5 and hit his first homer of the season. Denis Phipps went 1 for 3 with his 5th HR. Emmanuel Burriss singled and stole second to account for the Bat’s only other hit in the game.
Chad Reineke got the loss as he went 6 IP and allowed 2 R on 6 H and 3 BB with 7 K. Trevor Bell added 1.1 IP of scoreless relief.
Donald Lutz, Marquez Smith, and Danny Vicioso each went 1 for 3 with a BB. Devin Lohman hit his 6th HR. Travis Mattair tripled.
Daniel Renken got no decision as he went 6.2 IP and allowed 2 R on 5 H and 3 BB with 5 K. Drew Hayes took the loss allowing 2 R over 1.1 IP of relief.
