Minor League Player of the Day: Bakersfield RF Juan Duran: He went 3 for 3 with 3 HR (20) and a BB.
Denis Phipps slugged a walk off Grand Slam HR with two outs in the bottom of the 9th to give the Bats the victory. Phipps went 2 for 5 with a HR. Mike Costanzo went 2 for 4 with a 2B and a BB. Mike Hessman went 1 for 3 with a 2B and 2 BB.
Yohan Pino got no decision as he went 4 IP and allowed 2 R on 6 H and 0 BB with 3 K. Nick Christiani added 1 IP of scoreless relief. Trevor Bell got the win allowing 1 R over 1 IP of relief.
The Bats completed the season with a 69 – 75 record in 3rd place in the International League West.
Corey Wimberly went 1 for 2 with a BB. Devin Lohman and Juan Silverio each doubled.
Robert Stephenson got the loss as he went 1 IP and allowed 3 R on 3 H and 2 BB with 1 K. Parker Frazier added 3.1 IP of scoreless relief.
The Blue Wahoos completed the season with a 59 – 79 record in 5th place in the Southern League South.

Minor League Player of the Day: Jon Moscot delivered on multiple fronts last night. First, he tossed 7 shutout innings, scattering four hits, walking one and striking out five. He helped himself at the plate with a 1-for-2 night. The hit was a triple, and he scored one of the team’s two runs.
Chad Reineke allowed 4 runs, 8 hits, 3 walks and struck out 2 over 5 innings. Jose Arredondo faced 7 batters: six of them reached base and four of those scored.
Billy Hamilton and Denis Phipps had 6 of the Bats 8 hits. Hamilton was 3-for-5, all singles, with his 67th stolen base. Phipps was 3-for-4 with a solo homerun in the 4th inning.
Jon Moscot allowed just 4 hits, a walk and struck out 5 over 7 shutout innings. Moscot also hit a triple and scored a run. Lee Hyde and Trevor Bell each pitched a scoreless inning in relief.
Devin Lohman (2-for-4, R, RBI) and Mike Costanzo (2-for-3, BB) accounted for half of the Pensacola hits.

Minor League Player of the Day: Seth Mejias-Brean was 3-for-5 with an RBI double, an RBI single, and a walk-off grand slam.
The Louisville Bats are still on a break. Well, everyone except Mike Hessman (2-for-4, 2B) and Denis Phipps (2-for-4, SB). They collected 4 of the Bats 5 hits.
To be fair, they were facing Yankees prospect Michael Pineda, who is working his way back from should surgery. For Louisville, Chad Reineke (8-7, 3.53 ERA) allowed 4 runs and 9 hits over 6 innings. He didn’t walk a batter and struck out 3. Kanekoa Texeira allowed one hit in a scoreless relief inning.
The Blue Wahoos outhit the Huntsville Stars 8-4, but couldn’t push a run across the plate. Travis Mattair had three of the teams hits, including a pair of doubles. Ryan LaMarre singled twice and walked once.
Daniel Renken allowed just 1 run on 3 hits, walking 4 and striking out 4 over 6 innings. Lee Hyde pitched two scoreless innings, striking out two. Josh Ravin pitched a scoreless 9th inning.

Minor League Player of the Day: Jesse Winker has had only one hit on each of the past two days, but they have both been big hits. On Wednesday, Winker was the 4th player to bat in the 1st inning and hit a grand slam. Yesterday, Winker batted 3rd and hit a 3-run homerun in the 1st inning.
Winker finished Thursday 1-for-3 with the homerun, two walks, two runs scored and a sac fly.
The Bats and the Pirates AAA farm team were scoreless until the top of the 7th inning. Daniel Corcino allowed the only two Indians runs on a 2-run homerun to Andrew Lambo. It was a nice bounceback start for Corcino, who allowed just the 2 runs on 3 hits and 4 walks over 7 innings.
Neftali Soto (2-for-4, 2B) hit a 2-run double in the bottom of the 8th to tie the game at 2-2. Denis Phipps (2-for-3, BB) led off the bottom of the 9th inning with a single, and later scored the winning run on Kristopher Negron’s pinch-hit walk off single.
Zach Duke pitched a scoreless 8th inning. Duke is yet to allow a run in his 11.1 innings with the Bats. He has walked two and struck out 12. Kevin Wheelan walked one batter and struck out three in his scoreless 9th inning of work.
Ryan LaMarre hit a 3-run homerun in the 4th inning to give the Blue Wahoos all the runs they would need. Travis Mattair (3-for-4, BB, R) had 3 hits for the second day in a row. Donald Lutz doubled twice and scored twice. Redleg Nation Spotlight Player, Tucker Barnhart had two hits and two RBI. Corey Wimberly (2-for-4, HR, 2 RBI) added a solo homerun in the 9th inning.
Tim Crabbe (4-7, 3.41 ERA) pitched 6 shutout innings, allowing just 6 hits, walking no one and striking out 4. Josh Ravin and Loek Van Mil each pitched a scoreless inning in relief.

Minor League Players of the Day:
— For Dayton, Seth Mejias-Brean was a perfect 5-for-5 with two doubles, a run scored and three RBI.
— For Pensacola, Ryan LaMarre was 2-for-3 with a sac fly, a run scoring double, and a 9th-inning homerum.
Making his first start since June 25th, Armando Galarraga threw six shutout innings, allowing just 2 hits, walking 3 and striking out 2. Kanekoa Texeira pitched two perfect innings in relief, striking out two. Pedro Villarreal pitched a perfect 9th inning.
According to the Bats Media Relations department, Billy Hamilton’s leadoff walk in the first inning was the Bats first walk in the past 4 games (38 innings.) The team would go on to walk 8 times in the game. In addition to all the free passes, the Louisville offense cranked out 12 runs on 12 hits. Felix Perez (2-for-4, BB, 2B, HR) and Nevin Ashley (2-for-4, BB, HR) each hit 3-run homeruns. Denis Phipps had three hits, including a double, scored three times and knocked in two runs.
Defensively, Louisville hasn’t committed an error in their last 8 games, a stretch of 70 innings.
Ryan LaMarre’s sacrifice fly in the 2nd inning plated Redleg Nation Spotlight Player, Tucker Barnhart, giving the Blue Wahoos an early 1-0 lead. Down 3-1 in the 4th inning, Barnhart hit a 1-out bomb to right field, cutting the deficit to 1 run. Later that same inning, Travis Mattair came around to score on a LaMarre double to tie the game.
Fast forward to the 9th inning, game still knotted at three runs each. With Travis Mattair aboard again, Ryan LaMarre hit a game deciding home run. Pensacola reliever Trevor Bell struck out two in the bottom of the 9th for the save. Since joining Pensacola on June 9th, Bell hasn’t allowed a run in 13.1 innings. His line includes 6 hits, 4 walks, and 16 strikeouts.
Shaun Ellis started and allowed 3 runs over 3 innings. Chris Manno hit a batter but didn’t allow a hit or a walk over three shutout relief innings. Lee Hyde was credited with the win after retiring all 4 batters that he faced.

Minor League Player of the Day: Shaun Ellis allowed just one unearned run, one hit and one walk over 7 innings while striking out five.
Chad Rogers’ AAA debut qualified as a quality start. He allowed 3 runs over 6 innings on 8 hits and 2 walks, while striking out just 1 batter.
Denis Phipps (2-for-3, BB, 2B) had two of the Bats 5 hits and their only extra base hit.
Shaun Ellis (3-1, 3.21 ERA) allowed just 1 unearned run, 1 hit and 1 walk over 7 innings. Ellis struck out 5 batters. Josh Ravin and Trevor Bell each pitched a scoreless inning in relief.
Yorman Rodriguez had a double in four trips to the plate, driving in the first Pensacola run and later scoring the second run.
