Jason Linden and I are pretty excited right now. The biggest reason: Cody Atkinson. No, seriously. But there are plenty of other reasons to be optimistic about the direction of the Cincinnati Reds right now, and we discussed them all. The latest episode of the podcast begins, however, with a retrospective on the legendary career of Reds broadcaster Marty Brennaman, who announced his retirement this week.

Plus, we enjoyed a particularly rousing edition of Viewer Mail. Enjoy!

Chad to go along with the Cody Atkinson conversation, also the Reds hired Caleb Cotham as their assistant pitching coach to be the liaison between the pitching analytics department and the pitchers.

Good point. This stuff excites me, perhaps irrationally.
