The big news today will be if we find out who placed waiver claims on Matt Harvey and Billy Hamilton and if the Reds will be able to work out deals with those teams. A trade for either player should bring back some interesting farm pieces for us to keep an eye on.

  1. Scotty Moss is doing it big time in Daytona. A 15-3 record at Daytona and 31-10 in his pro career. Pretty dang gone good from the left hander. Pitching 20 miles from home has really agreed with Moss this year. He is just going to get better. Moss, Santillan and TeJay Antone will form a very good nucleus for Pensacola’s rotation next season.
Josiah Gray is going to be a stud. Great draft pick from a small college in upstate NY.
And another great draft pick was Rylan Thomas out of UCF. Doing quite well at Greeneville.
I hope Siri’s early spring training injury is the main culprit in his bad season. It certainly has impeded his development this year.
Injuries and slumps have really taken a toll on the Reds top-10 prospects. Senzel and Greene with season ending injuries. Trammell crashes into the wall and also has a big second half slump. Siri is injured early in spring training, out 2 months, begins season on DL, and slumps at AA most of the year. Shed Long had a great first 2 months but has slumped in the second half, same for Tyler Stephenson.
Long in 158 games at AA is only hitting .249/.339, not setting the world on fire. Luckliy no injuries with Long and TStephenson. India has pretty much slumped since being drafted. Downs is very inconsistent, but show signs of some things to like. Downs is hitting .250/.342 at A-, and he isn’t a SS. So add him to the murky mix at 2B/3B right behind Long. Who is behind Dixon, who is behind Herrera, who is behind Senzel, who is behind Suarez and Scooter.
Santillan and Vladimir Gutierrez are the only ones living up to their lofty top-10 ranking. It has been a very rough year on the Reds top-10 prospects.
