Reds vs Cardinals– September 28, 2016

Third of four games games between the Reds (66-91) and the Cardinals (82-75.) Today it is raining in Cincinnati and my abs hurt, although these things might not necessarily be related. But you can read my game thread anyway.

THINGS FROM TWITTER

Marty 100% buuuuuuuurned Cardinals fans this week:

…and then he buuuuuuuurned the Reds in general:

WE ALL KNOW WHO MARTY WAS THINKING OF WHEN HE SAID THAT

This guy.  Redleg Nation’s Chad Dotson hardest hit.

SPEAKING OF MARTY

This is a neat picture behind the scenes in the booth, what with the actual paper and the highlighting and the old-timey books and napkins and such.  Also: NOT a Mexican Coke sitting there next to Cowboy.

FINAL THOUGHTS

As I type, Boomer Esiason is taping the Kitten Bowl for broadcast on Super Bowl Sunday AND MY TRUST IN FOOTBALL IS HEREBY REVIVED.

  1. Welch on the catching situation last night, “Reds catchers have been more productive than the cardinals as they have 67 RBI and the cards only 58”. “The cards have a .300 average vs. .259 but they have been less productive overall.”

Reason number 768 why I don’t listen to the Reds broadcast . . . . No understanding of the meaning of statistics.

  2. In regard to Marty’s tweet, it’s meaningless. The Reds have a 40 man roster so any players beyond that are ‘non-roster” players. Some of those are prospects you need to protect but will not make the team so you need other potential bench and bullpen players. Its not possible to feild a team without some non roster players. So, who does Marty expect them to sign? Starting caliber players for no money? Get valuable players in a give up nothing trade? I am pretty sure every GM is looking for that.

  3. Any chance to spoil the Cards is cool with me. I will gladly take a lower draft spot for that.
