The Reds (57-82) took a loss yesterday at the hands of Ivan Nova and the Pirates (69-69), cementing their third straight losing season. That’s a sobering sentence to write, but at least the future is looking up? Kind of?
Tim Adleman stars for the Reds in the battle of two rookie pitchers. Adleman has yet to last more than 6.0 innings in any of his starts this year, and has had a problem with yielding homers of late. In his past three starts, Adleman has allowed seven home runs and taken two losses as a result.
Stephen Brault is making his third start since being recalled to the Pirates at the end of August and has pitched well since his return, but not abundantly so. Brault has struggled with walks in his four Major League outings, walking 10 in 19.0 innings, but has managed not to give up too many runs in the process.

Backstreet Bronson is Back
In case you missed it earlier, Bronson Arroyo has been shut down for the 2016 season but plans to make a comeback in 2017. This is honestly the best news I’ve heard all week and I work for a newspaper so I hear a lot of news, which probably isn’t the best analogy I could’ve made since newspaper news is usually very boring, but sometimes it isn’t yet this week wasn’t one of those weeks where it wasn’t boring, so indeed: Bronson Arroyo coming back to the Majors is the best news I’ve read all week.
Maybe the Reds will sign him and then trade him for Dansby Swanson. I’d be down with that.
Birthday Boy Billy
There’s a lot of “B” alliteration in this game thread, but I’m okay with it. Happy Birthday Billy!
In honor of the game's fastest player on his birthday. 🔥🎂🔥 pic.twitter.com/OynpdP1uhO

Imagine a Reds team where we traded Bronson Arroyo for Dansby Swanson. I’m still hung up on that. I mean, just look at this hair:

Those are the kinds of locks we need on this team.
