Last call on fund-raising drive

Since Chad Dotson founded Redleg Nation in 2005, the site has become a strong, independent voice regarding the Cincinnati Reds.

Your financial contribution strengthens that voice.

Redleg Nation offers a wide variety of content. Our regular weekday morning columns report on the NL Central, the Reds minor league affiliates and prospects and offer analytic breakdowns of the current team. Our afternoon feature writers span the same range of styles. You’ll also find posts on the long, glorious history of the Reds. Beyond that, every day the Reds play, we post extensive previews and game recaps. We’ve done extensive series on topics like baseball’s new run environment, UCL injuries and prevention and the new information age in baseball. Our talented writers analyze the players, managers, front office and the club’s owners.

We also take the time to monitor our comments sections with a zero-tolerance policy toward vulgarity, profanity and personal attacks. If you spend much time on the internets, you know Redleg Nation is a rare, safe space in that way. Our top-line goal is aggressive but civil conversation about the Reds. We care about the next generation of Reds fans and want parents to feel comfortable allowing their kids to read this site. And I know more than a few adults who appreciate having a respectful place they themselves can exchange thoughts about the Reds.

So, if you find value in what we offer, and you can afford it, please consider donating. It’s fast and easy. Use the DONATE button in the right column.

Today is the last day we’ll be asking for your financial support for another season. Sure, the donate button works year-round, but we won’t be nagging you about it like we did this week. Starting tomorrow we’ll throw open the doors of the Redleg Nation store and offer new merchandise.

To all those who have already contributed – from 30 states* and five foreign countries** – thank you so much for your generosity. We appreciate every donation, from the large ones to the $5 contributions from those kids we mentioned a minute ago.
