It’s been a long wait for the Cincinnati Reds and their fans, but Opening Day 2014 has finally arrived!
We hope you’ve been growing comfortable with the new Redleg Nation site design. If you haven’t registered to comment yet (you may have to create a new account), please do so. We like to read your opinions.
Our plans for today are as follows: Nick has already posted the second part of his NL Central preview, with his predictions including his All-NL Central Team (do you agree with his choices?). At noon, we’ll post our thoughts on the upcoming season, limited to 100 words per person. About an hour before game time, we’ll post our traditional game thread for your comments during the game (this might be a good time to re-familiarize yourself with our commenting guidelines – basically no profanity, no personal attacks, keep it civil). And after the game we’ll publish a recap of the Reds’ glorious win over the St. Louis Cardinals!
That’s what we’re doing. What about you, Nation?
Let’s do a roll call. Post a comment to this thread and let us know where you’ll be watching the game. If you’re decked out in Reds swag today (and who isn’t?) take a picture and send it to us, with your name and location (name and location optional) and we’ll post it on the new Redleg Nation Tumblr page. Send your pictures to firstname.lastname@example.org.
And go Reds!
Steve grew up in Cincinnati as a die-hard fan of Sparky’s Big Red Machine. After 25 years living outside of Ohio, mostly in Ann Arbor, he returned to the Queen City in 2004. He has resumed a first-person love affair with the Cincinnati Reds and is a season ticket holder at Great American Ball Park. The only place to find Steve’s thoughts of more than 140 characters is Redleg Nation. Follow his tweets @spmancuso.
