Game Thread: Padres at Reds (2013.08.09)

Can the Reds make it three wins in a row?  They can if the offense can score runs and Bronson Arroyo can be good Bronson Arroyo tonight.  I won’t say that this is a stretch that the Reds can really capitalize on because that seems to back-fire.  But the Reds really need to try and take advantage of what lays ahead of them if catching the Pirates is something this team wants to do this season.

Discuss the game here, and, GO REDS!

  1. The way Albert Pujols production has fallen off, it kinda makes you think that what Jack Clark said on his radio show about Albert’s former trainer saying Albert used steroids might just be true.

  2. That’s something you don’t hear often when Arroyo is pitching: Got em with a fastball.

  3. Plantar Fascitis…anyone ever hear of this foot problem 10 years ago. Now you hear it all the time…in every sport

      • @Jason Linden: When I was a kid the “pulled groin” was (to everyone’s delight) a very common injury. Now it seems not to exist.

    • @VaRedsFan:
If he has Plantar Fascitis & is trying to play through it, I can see why he can barely move.

I had the same thing – and I’m definitely not an athlete. It was so bad I could barely walk on it. Cortisone injections didn’t help, & I ended up having outpatient surgery. I was up in a walking boot in 3 days & it’s about 99.9% better. So I don’t see why a professional athlete wouldn’t just have the surgery if it’s that bad. It’s a much better option than hoping it gets better.

  4. Only the 2nd inning but its Rockies 4-0 over the Pirates. Oops I mean Bucko’s

  5. Nice first inning back by Broxton. Back to 13 over .500 and the Pie-Rats are losing big so far tonight.

  6. This was a well played game by the Reds in every aspect. Hey, why not beat em again tomorrow. Go Reds! Adios Amigos.

  7. Maybe I’m imagining it, but I thought Broxton looked a little trimmer. Or, I should say, a little less not-trim.
