Minor League Player of the Day: 22 year old Dominican 2B, Juan Silverio, had a big day for the Blaze in their 12-3 win. He went 3-5, hitting 2 homers (his 6th and 7th) and drove in half of the Blaze’s runs. He hit a 2 run homer in the 1st and a grand slam in the 7th. Silverio was originally signed by the White Sox organization and is in his first year with the Reds. This is his 3rd year at High A. His slash line for ’13 is .280/.298/.433/.731. I’ve been a Reds fan since the late ’60’s, with my luck of being able to attend plenty of games at Riverfront during the BRM era. I was sitting in the Green Seats in the OF when Pete came home in ’84 and was in the Red seats when Glenn Braggs reached over the fence in ’90 to beat the Pirates. I have had many favorites from Jim Maloney to Johnny Bench, Barry Larkin, Adam Dunn, and Jay Bruce.

  1. hamilton has 4 home runs?

  2. Anyone else planning a trip to Louisville soon. I’d really like to see Greg Reynolds pitch. I realize others do not have faith in him based upon his performance in other organizations. But I have a lot of respect for Tedd Powers to see and fix problems.
