  1. It’s a beautiful night in Cincinnati. The smoke stacks look great. I like the red truck.

  2. Getting ahead of myself a bit here, but please please please let’s not see if Broxton can blow a 4th game for Latos this year……….

  3. What was someone saying about the Reds never being able to beat the Cardinals?

I must be watching the wrong feed or something.

    • @CI3J: That was never said. Read the entire thread. Nowhere did anyone say the Reds were never able to beat the Cardinals.

      • @RedForever:

Ok, then what was someone saying about “right now there is no way the Reds can beat them. They are that good.” ?

  4. Better get Cozart back to the top of the order. Gotta get him going.

  5. I assume Baker is unhappy with the lack of aggressiveness shown by Mes and Frazier.

  6. I’ll take those 2 runs and be grateful to have gotten them. Go Reds!

  7. Jeez, Speier is terrible. Bruce should’ve scored on Mes’s ground ball. Ugh, too conservative.

  8. If only the Reds can get a couple more runs in the 7th, Broxton can probably hold the resulting 4 run lead.

  9. Wow, wow, wow ya had to see it to believe it. Votto fields the does a behind the back throw to Latos who was covering 1st base, Latos catches the ball barehanded.

    • @Sergeant2: That was totally sick … Latos looked almost like he expected it.

Nice 7 innings and he helped himself out defensively as well.

  10. So is Latos going to pitch the 8th? Normally of course Dusty would pinch hit here, but given the bullpen, it’ll be interesting to see what he does. I’d keep Latos in and have Lecure ready if someone gets on.

    • @pinson343: Too many hard hit balls. I agree. He got through it, but from listening, it wasn’t pretty.

  11. Once again, it’s set up for the Cards: 3-4-5 vs Broxton (I assume Broxton, anyways). The Reds need runs.

  12. Cozart is now (career) 3 for 18 with the bases loaded. Even with a few sacrifice flies in the mix, he has a grand total of 9 career RBI in bases loaded situations. Other than the relief pitchers, I’d rather see literally anyone on the team at the plate in those situations. Even Izturis has better stats.

  13. This is the first time I remember trolls being on Redleg Nation. Hopefully their life span is short.

  14. Rodriguez does not belong in the major leagues at this time. Has anyone in the organization checked out that he’s got a .689 OPS at Louisville this year?

  15. This is good. Maybe Dusty will see how well Robinson “worked” and keep the Paul/Robinson platoon 2nd. (I say “worked” because it’s one game.)

  16. Need these two runs here!

I have noticed a lot of the freak outs on here….I think it was a stretch to think the Reds were going to win game 1 of this series. The panic is a bit premature.

    Go Reds!

  17. unable to watch/listen. who is going to pitch the 8th inning for the Reds?

  18. What was Votto waiting on? 2 pitches right where he likes them. Blech!!

  19. That was a lousy AB from Votto. I’m firmly on Joeys side in terms of the R I vs OBP argument, but what is he doing taking those pitches in that spot? They weren’t even close to being off the plate. A walk is worthless there.

  20. Have to think the Legend of Joey Votto got into his own head there. He went to the plate not thinking for a second they were going to give him anything to hit. He took one crack at the first pitch and then said “No chance they aren’t going to walk me.”

  21. This game is in serious jeopardy. The last two innings have been really disappointing, and now comes Broxton with only a 2 run lead against the heart of the order.

  22. Boy this game could be a blow out right now…Really crappy hitting wRISP. But no worries. 2 run lead in the 8th inning…What could possibly go wrong?

  23. Maybe Broxton surprises us and has an easy inning. Stranger things have happened, right? Like UFOs and Bigfoot and stuff.

  24. Of course Chapman not even stretching yet. Let alone getting loose.
