Votto Walk-Off

A simple Reds fan from a simple town. I have been a Reds fan all my life. The 1990 team was crowned Champions during my prime youth years and I grew up idolizing Chris Sabo all the way down to the flat top hair style and the #17. I have passed that love of the Reds down to my three boys who love the game and the Reds just as much as I do! Follow me on twitter @CoachWilson17

  1. Latos is a horse – so I choose him by a nose.

  2. Homer is out. Really gutty performance tonight. 7-0, I don’t blame DB at all.

  3. Nice to see Robinson get on, regardless of how. That’s always a great first for a kid.

  4. Redleg Nation Poll Question: If you could only extend one pitcher Latos or Bailey right now who would it be?

Short (and I mean short) explanations are welcome but not necessary. But please vote. I’ll tally at the end.

So far there are 5 votes for Latos and the “never” controversial Mancuso is the lone vote for Homer Bailey. Although, many of you said it was a close call Latos wins going away!!!

    • @L.A.Red: I didn’t vote for Homer. I said Latos was younger, that’s an argument for him. I also said Homer is a free agent sooner. That’s also an argument for Latos because his extension would start a year later.

  5. Holy crap- Dusty does the right thing. We ding him often, now praise him for the right decision- please? Yet Parra praying for a good showing

  6. It sure looked like Heisey beat that throw to first.. would like to see that replay. Might have been the second time this season he was called out at first even while being safe.

  7. That Phillips guy can catch baseballs. Wowza.

  8. Our former CFer is struggling tonight with 3 Ks in 3 ABs.

  9. I vote Latos on intimidation factor alone.

  10. BRUUUUUUUUCE!!!!

  11. I have to say Latos. He’s just had a more consistent history, and he’s actually younger than Bailey, which seems difficult to believe.

  12. RBI double by Bruce. 7-0 Reds Bot. 7th.

  13. I was just about to type “does anyone else think Bruce is due?”. Right on cue, Cousin Brucie. Hope that get’s ya going.

  14. SUPER TODD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Harper who?

  15. 10-0… weren’t the Washington Harpers supposed to be good or something?

  16. another challenge?

  17. Geez boys….save some runs for tomorrow’s game. Better yet Sunday’s game when Cueto eats Strasburgs lunch!!!

  18. Now 10-0 Reds Bot. 7th

  19. This is so awesome. Can’t they save a few of these runs for tomorrow though? Leakey might need’em!

  20. Devin Mesoraco is alive!

  21. Mesaraco’s batting 1.000

  22. MEZ!!!! There we go.

  23. Todd is just awesome!

  24. Man, Frazier is off to one heckuva start.

  25. Did Parra just get a hit?

  26. What is the arc of the team this year? We know we have youngish team that can develop. Bruce has consistently improved, Super Todd will show us he is a legit 3rd baseman ( thanks Scott). Cozart will step forward without the pressure and if Mesoraco can see the field, then this could get scary quickly. We haven’t seen Leake, but the rest of the staff looks truly studly. I heard Leake was strong in ST. Hope it only grows and thanks for reading

  27. The Nats have to be careful here (10-0) or this game might get away from them.

  28. Jacoby deserves credit. Right?

  29. Frasier dresses in a phone booth before the games!

  30. And the legend of Todd Frazier continues. And just think, it all began when he arrived here from the planet Krypton.

  31. BTW- thank you to the SF giants for their victory over the team that shall not be named

  32. I am still grinning from earlier, my face hurts now.

  33. frazier

  34. Great to see the plate discipline from Choo to take a walk even when the club is ahead 10-0. It’s like Votto, he never gives an AB away.

  35. Great confidence builder, Dusty.

  36. X-MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!! PH GRAND SLAM!!!! OH MY!!!!

  37. At this rate, there won’t be any fireworks left for the FIREWORKS SHOW

  38. Was the spread on this game two touchdowns?

    • At this rate, there won’t be any fireworks left for the FIREWORKS SHOW

Was the spread on this game two touchdowns?

this is ‘way beyond fun! I so wanted to put these harpers in their place. 🙂

  39. WOW

  40. Dusty is a genius.

  41. Amazing. The X factor !!!!

  42. The extra point is good!

    80 yards in 8 plays.

  43. Holy Crap.

That’s all you can say at this point. This is a special night. Hope the Nats enjoyed being last undefeated team out there.

  44. Talk about clearing the bench, the next substitutions will have to come from Louisville.

  45. This is such a special team we have in Cincinnati. 🙂

  46. 14-0 Redlegs as they head to the 8th.

  47. And Wilson Valdez…err…Cesar Izturis end the inning.

  48. The only thing left to do is to put Mike Leake in as a PH and let him go yard…

  49. This would be the perfect time for the bunt.

    • This would be the perfect time for the bunt.

.. then steal second. but NO sliding.

  50. THIS IS MADNESS!

  51. 😯 Wow. Bravo Redlegs.

  52. *sigh*
Some people love their friends and family…

    I love Reds baseball.

  53. I can’t believe the Reds broadcast is still pushing JTM’s meat like products. (hey its 14-nuttin Reds, any comment goes at this point)

  54. BRUUUUUUUUCE!!!! That’s a good sign.

  55. Well this game is just downright silly.

  56. Frasier. I am running out of things to say.

  57. Isn’t there a mercy rule?

  58. I am Super Todd. Hear me roar.

  59. Whats more gruesome?

The beating the Reds are putting on the Nats or Kevin Ware’s injury?

  60. I hope there is a tiebreaker somewhere along the way that includes total runs scored head-to-head

  61. My question of tonight is, who and the heck gets the player of the game award?

  62. Anyone know what’s up with BHam? He’s supposedly really hurt…

  63. In keeping tabs on all of our NL Central bretheren… Milwaukee just went down by two runs in the 7th on a wild pitch that scored 2 for AZ. Mike Gonzalez has been Edinson like out of the ‘pen: Walks, strikes outs, wild pitches. I haven’t actually seen a hit but the bases were loaded. In other important news, Front Row Amy still has her seat.

    • Careful. Any more good news tonight and something dire is bound to happen.

      • @Mwv: Maybe something bad did happen… I see rhayex’s post about Billy Hamilton being hurt? Will wait for confirmation.

        • @Matt WI: cbssports has something about a shoulder injury on a pick off attempt… he had already had 3 SB in the game.

  64. 15-0 Reds heading to the top of the 9th.

  65. 15-0 is nice but still only one win for us and one loss for them. I remember getting “mercy” ruled by the USMC team at Ft. Meade on a Wednesday right before I no-hit them in a 4-0 win the following Saturday.

It is great to see the bats come alive and the pitching continuing to be strong. Was hoping to get to the game tomorrow but my daughter is sick so we’ll probably stay in for the most part.

  66. Interesting to see if Washington scores here, if they’ll go for two or just kick the P.A.T.

  67. And this one belongs to the Todd’s!

  68. These blowout games don’t come around very often, that’s why I really enjoy them. Tomorrows game could have me popping nitro pills and yelling “Clear!” every inning. Lets make it three in a row tomorrow. Great game, lotta fun. Go Reds!

  69. they weren’t kidding when they said Friday nights were fireworks nights…. 😉

  70. Reading all the comments here was almost as much fun as watching that game. I am crying from laughing like a lunatic. This place is awesome.
