  1. It looks like Ismael Guillon has picked up or mastered another pitch like a cutter or split-finger. In the 2010 AZL, Guillon had 73 SO in 57 innings and gave up only 1 HR. That was probably based strictly on good fastballs. Last year in Rookie Ball, he gave up gave up 11 HR in 63 innings with 46 BB & only 61 SO. This year he started in Rookie Ball again but was just promoted to Dayton and he has 63 SO & only 23 BB in 57 innings with only 1 HR. That’s a nice adjustment for the 20 year old, lanky, left-hander.

  2. @BloodyHo:
Is he a relative of yours? I guess not or you would have known about his new pitch.
But you know alot, and I am impressed. Just as I am impressed with the coaching throughout the Reds farm system.

  3. @seat101: Seat, I agree with your assessment of the excellent Reds’ coaching in the minor league system, especially at the developmental levels (Rookie, A- & A+). Oh, and TY for the kind words. I’m not sure that I know a lot, but the old guy has certainly been around long enough so something was bound to stick at some point.
