Pat Doyle, 4.06 ERA, got no decision as he went 3.1 IP and allowed 1 R on 6 H and 3 BB with 2 K. Justice French picked up the win while allowing 1 R over 3 IP of relief. Kyle McMyne got his 2nd save with 1 IP of scoreless relief.

  1. Steals are only important if they actually contribute to runs plated, otherwise they are just window dressing. Hamilton steals with a success rate above 82%, which makes his attempts valid. In the 1st inning, he doubles, steals 3B and plates a run on a ground out by Mattair. In the 3rd inning, Hamilton doubles (scoring D’Anna), steals 3B and plates a run on a ground out by Lutz. Those are two productive SB leading to runs. Then in the 7th inning for good measure, Hamilton doubles again (scoring D’Anna again). Four runs plated by the Blaze with Hamilton scoring 2 (directly attributable to stolen bases) & driving in 2. The questions remain, can Hamilton hit a good slider and will his speed translate productively against better competition? He won’t find out playing in A+.
