Our newest Spotlight Player, Sean Buckley (currently of the Dayton Dragons).

Sean was drafted in the 6th round by the Reds in 2011 and played last year at Billings. At Billings, he played 3B; thus far for the Dragons, he’s played 1B. At Billings, Sean hit .289/.372/.551/.923 with 14 homers in 59 games.

He was picked as a Pioneer League Post Season All-Star and is listed by Baseball America as the Reds #19 Prospect.

Sean’s father is Chris Buckley, the Reds Scouting Director.

We welcome Sean aboard here at Redleg Nation and look forward to watching him make his way towards the big leagues.

I’ve been a Reds fan since the late ’60’s, with my luck of being able to attend plenty of games at Riverfront during the BRM era. I was sitting in the Green Seats in the OF when Pete came home in ’84 and was in the Red seats when Glenn Braggs reached over the fence in ’90 to beat the Pirates. I have had many favorites from Jim Maloney to Johnny Bench, Barry Larkin, Adam Dunn, and Jay Bruce.
