Columbus 4 – Louisville 3

Todd Frazier went 2 for 4. Dan Dorn went 1 for 3 with a 2B and a BB. Chris Valaika doubled.

Dontrelle Willis continues to throw the ball really well for the Bats. After three starts he is sporting a 0.53 ERA and over 17 IP he has allowed just 14 H and 5 BB with 15 K. He got no decision as he went 5 IP and allowed 1 R on 6 H and 2 BB with 4 K. Jerry Gil took the loss in relief allowing the winning run in the bottom of the ninth.


Tennessee 9 – Carolina 5

Cody Puckett went 2 for 3 with a 2B and a BB. Second basemen Cody Puckett, who put up a .843 OPS last year in A+ Lynchburg, is now hitting .389/.511/.750/1.261 after 36 AB. David Cook went 2 for 4 with a 2B. Jose Castro went 2 for 4 to raise his AVG to .364.

James Avery took the loss as he went 5.1 IP and allowed 6 R, 3 ER, on 8 H and 0 BB with 6 K. Brad Boxberger tossed 1.2 IP of scoreless relief. Boxberger has yet to be scored on this season in 7.2 IP of relief.

High A

Bakersfield 6 – Modesto 4

Andrew Means went 2 for 5 with a 2B. Stephen Hunt homered in his A+ debut. Eric Campbell doubled. The Reds picked up the 25 year old third baseman Eric Campbell as a minor league free agent over the winter and he was just named the California League Offensive Player of the Week and now has a slash line of .500/.567/.813/1.379 in 48 AB.

J. C. Sulbaran got the win as he went 5 IP and allowed 4 R on 8 H and 2 BB with 4 K. Doug Salinas picked up his 3rd save with a scoreless ninth inning of relief.

Low A

Dayton 4 – Bowling Green 1

Billy Hamilton went 1 for 3 with a BB but was caught stealing 2B both times he reached. Donald Lutz went 1 for 3 with a 2B and a BB and is now sporting a slash line of .356/.408/.644/1.053 in 45 AB.

Daniel Tuttle picked up the win as he went 6 IP and allowed 1 R on 5 H and 1 BB with 6 K. Blaine Howell, who is unscored on this season over 7.1 IP, picked up his 2nd save.
