Was at the day game of the day/night DH in Dayton…it was possibly the worst played game I’ve ever seen the Dragons play. Poor decision making at the plate (too many first pitch swings), horrible defense (4 errors), and all around bad play. Chase Weems had a terrible game behind the plate…two errors, and was arguing a play at the plate w/o calling a time out allowing a runner to take an extra base.

I kind of surprised (speaking to myself here too) that Sam LeCure doesn’t get more play. He’s always left out of future pitching discussions.

There seems to be more pitching prospects than there is room for: Sam LeCure, Matt Klinker, Brad Boxberger, etc.

Scouting-wise, I think they project him to be in the bullpen instead of the rotation, but he’s certainly not having trouble with AAA hitters this year. That was his 2nd consecutive start without allowing a run (his previous start was 7 innings). He also had an April start where he pitche 8 shutout innings (0bb/9k in that game.) His 2nd start of the season is the only start in which has issued more than 2 walks in a game.

Mesoraco – 20 extra base hits now in just 143 at-bats. He also has walked 18 times and sports a 1.040 OPS.
