Just wanted to mention a book I just finished: The Mysterious Montague: A True Tale of Hollywood, Golf, and Armed Robbery. It was written by Leigh Montville, who wrote two other books that I enjoyed quite a bit: The Big Bam (about Babe Ruth) and Ted Williams.

I won’t reveal too much of the story right now, except to say that I had never heard of this guy Montague and just happened to see that Montville had a new book when I was browsing in the bookstore. It sounded interesting, so I picked it up and when I started reading, I was immediately enraptured.

Fascinating story, and I recommend it highly. There’s even some baseball content (I imagine that Montville stumbled upon this story while researching his Babe Ruth biography). Excellent read.
