Indianapolis 8 – Louisville 5

Chris Dickerson went 2-5 with a homerun, 2 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in.  For Chris, the homerun was number 5 on the season.  Aaron Herr also homered, his 11th of the season, driving in 3.  Herr went 1-5 with the homerun.

Homer Bailey got the start and pitched ok.  Bailey gave up 3 runs (2 earned) on 5 hits and 4 walks in 6 innings pitched.  He struck out 7.  Homer left with the game tied and 3, and then Matt Belisle proceeded to cough up any chance at a win.  Belisle gave up 5 runs on 2 hits and 3 walks in .2 innings pitched.

Chattanooga 11 – West Tennessee 5

Justin Turner was perfect at the plate going 5-5 with a homerun, 3 rbis, and a run scored.  The homerun was Turner’s 4th of the year and the 5 hits raised his average to .282 on the season.  Sean Henry went 2-4 with a double, run scored, and 3 rbis as well while Craig Tatum went 3-4 with 2 doubles, 2 runs scored, and 3 rbis of his own.

Camilo Vazquez made his first start at Double A after spending time in Sarasota and with Louisville.  Vazquez gave up 1 run on 4 hits, a walk, and struck out 5 in 5 innings of work.  He is overall 5-3 on the season with a 4.55 ERA in 57.1 minor league innings.

Dayton versus Great Lakes

Postponed.  As you probably have already read, Klinker was scheduled to pitch, hence the rain!

Billings 3 – Great Falls 2

The Mustangs remain perfect in their new ballpark, improving to 2-0!  Brett Bartles went 3-4 with a double, run scored, and 2 rbis while Neftali Soto went 2-3 with 2 doubles and a runs scored.  Soto was batting .364/.397/.745 in 55 at-bats coming into this game.

Justin Freeman picked up the win in relief.  Freeman pitched 4 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits and a walk while striking out 3.

    At what point do we start aggressively pointing out that Dickerson could replace Patterson and do better?

    Have the Reds given any thought to sending Bailey back to single A and restarting his development like the Rangers did with Volquez last year. Something is clearly wrong with his mechanics and they need to bring in an outside consultant that bailey will listen to.

    Is it time to give up on Belisle yet? He’s stinking up AAA worse than he stunk up the majors!
