June 2, 1943: The Reds bobard the NY Giants, 13-6 at Crosley Field. Withrow High School (local Cincinnati public high school) graduate Al Lakeman led the attack with three singles, a double, three RBIs, and three runs scored.
During World War II, blood donors received a free Reds ticket for every pint given.
