Finally, statistical evidence of what we’ve all known forever: Brandon Phillips swings at WAY too many pitches, and his numbers suffer because of it. When Phillips forces the pitcher to come into the zone against him, he’s a great hitter.

Unfortunately, pitchers don’t have to throw it in the strike zone, because BP will swing at anything.
