What do you think? Can Belisle toss 10 innings of one-run ball tonight?

I’ll settle for another win. Discuss it here.

  1. Yo is on the mound!

    He’ll be a tough assignment.

  2. Wow! Pedro Lopez is on the bench, and Keppinger is at SS, and Edwin is at 3rd, and Ross is batting eighth!

All seems right in the world.

  3. Cincinnati Reds

    Hatteberg, 1b
    Hopper, CF
    Griffey, RF
    Phillips, 2b
    Dunn, LF
    Keppinger, SS
    Encarnacíon, 3b
    Ross, C
    Belisle, P

  4. Milwaukee Brewers

    Weeks, 2b
    Counsell, SS
    Braun, 3b
    Fielder, 1b
    Mench, RF
    Jenkins, LF
    Miller, C
    Gwynn Jr., CF
    Gallardo, P

  5. Belisle had a good 1st inning.

  6. Keppinger up bases loaded.

  7. At least they made the kid throw a bunch of pitches. On to the 2nd.

  8. Nice AB by Kep. Fell behind 0-2 and battled.

  9. would have been good if there was 1 down instead of 2:P

  10. Mark Sheldon & Marty talking, Alex Gonzalez ‘made an appearance in the clubhouse’. Say he might be back on the field by Friday.

  11. Nice catch by Griffey! Still a sac. fly, though; 1-0 MIL.

  12. Yo struggling a bit with control. Belisle walks – nice patience.

  13. Norris Hopper: when the opposing pitcher is struggling to throw strikes, don’t help him out by swinging at the first pitch for a foul popout.

  14. Reds should get these threats started before spotting the first two outs. But that’s the story for two innings – 5 baserunners, all with two out, all stranded.

  15. How about Junior! Diving! Doubleplay!

  16. Poor Matt, not a good outing at all

  17. Gallardo is getting better as the game progresses, Belisle went the other direction. 4-0 after four.

  18. Gosling has pitched effectively in relief shockingly.

  19. Certainly Gosling’s been hot lately. He was great in that 15-inning game in Atlanta, and just as good tonight.

  20. Despite not really doing anything, The Reds are still in the game and down 4-1 with two more chances against the Brewer bullpen. Think they’ll bring in Balfour again?

Or maybe Turnbow will have one of his trademarked spectacular meltdowns.

  21. Adam Dunn is awesome. 4-3 just like that.

  22. Ha, Turnbow is rattled. Throws the next pitch to the backstop.

  23. You know what Keppinger is? A professional hitter. In the mold of a younger Jeff Conine, or Joe Randa.

  24. Edwin looking to bunt. I don’t know about that plan.

  25. Thom sez: Edwin’s last sacrifice bunt was in AA-Chattanooga in 2004. No surprise that it didn’t work out here.

  26. Ugh. Villanueva comes in with a hammer. Quickly 2 away.

  27. Can javy get us back in again? Wild one gets Kepp to second.

  28. nope. K for the LLM. Onto the 9th down 4-3

  29. Maybe if Stanton wasn’t so fat, that double play would’ve been turned. I am sick of seeing this guy.

    He looked out, though.

  30. ‘sallright – that would have been a pretty Incredible doubleplay if they had somehow managed to turn it.

  31. That was close. If it weren’t for Stanton, there wouldn’t have been a guy on base to get a double play. 😕

  32. If his curveball gets any slower, the Reds should transfer his contract to a slow-pitch softball league.

    Base hit. Ugh.

  33. I don’t think I can remember seeing this many foul balls in an inning.

  34. I don’t care if it was a great pitch, Chris Welsh, this inning is Stanton’s fault.

  35. Dammit Stanton, this half-inning has lasted about a half-hour and finally they score an insurance run. 5-3 MIL.

  36. How can anyone in the administration want to keep Stanton around when he gives up runs so consistantly?

  37. Gotta love Hatteberg. Man, has he been a nice hitter as a Red.

  38. Ahhh. Game over, 5-3 MIL final.

  39. This game’s on Belisle. He’s not giving the team a chance to win when he pitches. He needs to go into the bullpen…..
