I just saw on the ESPN2 ticker during the Futures Game that Homer Bailey has been sent back down to AAA Louisville. The Reds’ stated reason is that they want to keep Homer on a consistent rotation of pitching during the All-Star break. I don’t have any current links to the story or anything to add at this moment.

Here’s a link to the story.

Krivsky said the length of Bailey’s stay with Louisville was yet to be determined. Unless another Red is placed on the disabled list, Bailey must stay with Louisville for at least 10 days.

  1. If today counts as a day then he would be back for the final game of the Atlanta series. Is there someone borderline going on the DL? If not who comes up in his place? Please don’t say Broken Shoulder!

  2. Baily goes down for 10 days that is perfect timing he will get his start on Wends and then be recalled for his next start with the reds. Good plan. Reds called up IF Pedro Lopez to take his spot for 10 days.

  3. They did recently call up Sarloos, so I I would bet that he is available for the start if necessary.

  4. Lopez has been on fire recently.

Saarloos will have to get a start since there are no off days on the road trip.
