Share this:TweetPocket 107 Responses Justin 06/14/2007 A little late the thread appears:) Angels looking solid. Colon has been on cruise control it seems. DevilsAdvocate 06/14/2007 Huh. Gamethread appears an hour after it was posted. Bailey struggling a bit today, especially that long second inning. 58 pitches through three, and no K’s yet either. Justin 06/14/2007 True true. 4th inning looks better. Bill 06/14/2007 Anyone ever used ESPN’s Gamecast on a Mac? Justin 06/14/2007 Trade Bait to Angels is 2 for 2 today with an RBI Justin 06/14/2007 EE with the 6-4-3 DP great. Justin 06/14/2007 fast inning……again. Colon is unfazeled today. what a way for him to snap his slump. Justin 06/14/2007 Bailey has settled some. Great pitch by Vlad the man….wow. Justin 06/14/2007 Great inning by Homer!! DevilsAdvocate 06/14/2007 So Bailey has struck out only one – and it was Vladimir Guerrero. Wacky game, baseball. DevilsAdvocate 06/14/2007 Have never used ESPN’s gameday on a Mac. But I have used the MLB one, which worked fine. Justin 06/14/2007 2 errors by angels gives us a run. Brandon lets get a hit. DevilsAdvocate 06/14/2007 Nice piece of hitting by Hatteberg – down just one now, 3-2. Hatteberg has 3 of the Reds’ 5 hits. Dunn’s got the other two; together, 5 for 5. DevilsAdvocate 06/14/2007 Bailey has throw just 20 pitches the past two innings together. It’s earned him some more time on the mound. Hamilton removed from the game? No update yet. Justin 06/14/2007 interesting game that we have here. I like it. Colon looked unhappy that inning. an unearned run will do that for you. Justin 06/14/2007 none that I have heard. Bailey looks comfortable after rough start. Justin 06/14/2007 Bailey 6 IP 90 pitches. very good since the 2nd. Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 Bill, I use a Mac. I think I have had Gamecast up and running before. Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 GRIFFEY!!! 579!!! Justin 06/14/2007 Griffey ties it!!!! DevilsAdvocate 06/14/2007 Griffey! Just like that, tied at three. DevilsAdvocate 06/14/2007 Dizziness for Josh Hamilton. Could be heat exhaustion – too much sunshine. Justin 06/14/2007 Colon looking restless Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 Gonzo needs to make up for last night’s stupid error. He loses focus now and then. Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 GONZO!!!!! Justin 06/14/2007 come on Gonzo Justin 06/14/2007 5-3……Bailey will go to 2-0……Awesome. DevilsAdvocate 06/14/2007 Woohoo! Gonzalez wraps a flyball around the foul pole. 5-3! Justin 06/14/2007 Bailey gets to go 7 I think. DevilsAdvocate 06/14/2007 And Bailey is still in the game, too – even better. Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 Let’s make Homer 2-0!!! If Bailey is 6-0 at the All-Star break does he get an invite? Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 Not a good way to start the inning! 😡 Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 Dick Pole to the mound!!! Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 Snarl and put them away, Homer!!! Sultan of Swaff 06/14/2007 Should’ve yanked him after the leadoff walk, especially on a hot day. DevilsAdvocate 06/14/2007 Even if he gets the win today and goes to 2-0, Bailey is not pitching anywhere near All-Star level yet. Maybe he’ll start dominating once he gets the opportunity to pitch against NL clubs. Did Jered Weaver go to the All-Star Game last year after his fast start? He was 6-0 at the break . . . with a 1.12 ERA. Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 Need a K and a DP!! Up to Gary!! It is time for a new attitude, dude!!! Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 I like what Brantley is saying about Majewski and 0-2 counts. Put the ball where it needs to be. Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 Grow some gonads, Gary!!! Matt W 06/14/2007 Walked in a run; wish I could have a beer at work 🙄 Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 This guy has been give opportunity after opportunity. He’s healthy. There are no excuses! Matt W 06/14/2007 When’s the next bus to L’ville? DevilsAdvocate 06/14/2007 Well, Bailey gets to learn about the real Reds’ bullpen today. John 06/14/2007 Can we cut Majewski yet? Jeff 06/14/2007 Why does Narron continue to put him in the game? He is horrible, what is so hard to understand? Majek comes in and blows it. Stop being so stubborn and stop playing him. Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 He has absolutely no clue where he is putting the ball. river rat 06/14/2007 Majewski’ ERA is 12.71?! 😥 Jeff Gentil 06/14/2007 Bye Bye Gary!! Who up next? Jeff Gentil 06/14/2007 Can anyone in the ‘pen get a batter out on a consistent basis besides Weathers? Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 Two of the last three losses are due to Majewski while the rest of the pen did an admirable job. Maybe the ought to have Majewski start a game as an attempt to shake him up. Matt W 06/14/2007 (47) That looks closer to a zip code than an ERA 😯 Jeff Gentil 06/14/2007 Coffey? nope Majik? nope Stanton? nope Cooter? not really Santos? who? Jeff Gentil 06/14/2007 Welcome to the Cincinnati Reds, Homer! river rat 06/14/2007 Oh wait…14.29 ERA Jeff Gentil 06/14/2007 We only have 3 1/2 more months of this…. 👿 river rat 06/14/2007 oh wait…15.88 ERA DevilsAdvocate 06/14/2007 That ERA is on the rise. One of Stanton’s inherited runners scores, another is on the way . . . safe. Majewski sits now at 15.88 ERA. Jeff 06/14/2007 Why is Narron so stubborn with the horrible bullpen pitchers? He keeps throwing Coffey and Majewski. When will he learn that their stuff is not good and they are horrible? Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 Narron is an idiot for bringing in Majewski into a situation that he has failed in time and time again. John 06/14/2007 Man, Brantley is just dealing on this bullpen right now. “Somebody’ll pop up and be the closer. Well, you’re gonna ‘pop up’ in last place…” Jeff Gentil 06/14/2007 The problem is, you can’t throw Santos in there. He throws 85 mph. And you can’t throw weathers 3 innings a game. Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 Their stuff is fine. Their control is what is horrible. DevilsAdvocate 06/14/2007 So, 8-5. Also, incidentally, the two runners that Bailey left in Majewski’s care scored, so his ERA balloons to 5.73. Jeff Gentil 06/14/2007 Man, sometimes it’s really hard to be a Reds fan. I will never stop, but it’s really hard sometimes John 06/14/2007 This is turning into a good ol’ fashioned butt whippin’. Jeff Gentil 06/14/2007 Bailey was fine. After that…crap! DevilsAdvocate 06/14/2007 So, 9-5. Ugly. Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 I wish Bailey would just unload in the locker room on Majewski and Stanton. I wish the entire team would unload on them. Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 The Angels are in it to win!!! The difference between a Mike Scioscia team and a Jerry Narron team. Jeff Gentil 06/14/2007 Another problem…the Reds have no one at AAA who can get ML batters out. And don’t say Salmon because he can’t either. Bill Bray is a long way away right now, too. Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 Mercifully it is over Phil Rizzuto Parmesan 06/14/2007 Majewski stunk, but it was Homer that walked the first two batters. One thing we do know after two starts is that he has control issues. I’m wondering if everyone who thought he was ready still thinks he has nothing to learn at Louisville? He completed 6 and had the lead. His pitch count was 101. If it had stayed at 93, wonder what the score would be? Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 I’m not so sure that everyone thought he was necessary ready. It was just time for him to come up and learn at this level. Matt W 06/14/2007 Homer is doing fine and will be all right; the bullpen on the other hand… Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 Ross seems to be in a zone. Came up just short on that one. Matt W 06/14/2007 Come on Hatte go 4-4 Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 Reds – 137 pitches Angels – 107 Matt W 06/14/2007 Trade bait coming up with runners on 1st and 2nd Jeff Gentil 06/14/2007 Dunn got a hit with runners on base and two out!!!!!!!!! river rat 06/14/2007 Edwin I command you to hit a game-tying homer!!!! river rat 06/14/2007 Edwin I command you to grab your glove and RUN to third base Matt W 06/14/2007 Java time Jeff Gentil 06/14/2007 Todd Coffey, I command you to not suck for a change Phil Rizzuto Parmesan 06/14/2007 I’m not so sure that everyone thought he was necessary ready That’s not what I said. And I also didn’t say that Homer won’t be alright. He’s inefficient due to control problems. In 11 big league innings, he’s thrown 215 pitches. That’s a lot. I hate to see him keep logging that many pitches at this level just to figure out how to locate his breaking stuff. If he can do it at Louisville while being more efficient because AAA batters are easier to get out, it will save wear and tear on the arm. Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 AAA hitters are less likely to be as patient as MLB hitters. I have seen high pitch counts like this from several of the starters. Part of the problem is putting hitters away with two strikes. Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 Who is this Richard guy that Brennaman and Brantley are talking about? river rat 06/14/2007 What is Bailey’s go to pitch…with 2 strikes on a batter? The heater or the curve? So far when he has two strikes on a batter I haven’t seen him display any one particular finishing pitch. Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 Almost forgot the Paris Hilton news for the day: She is back in regular jail after almost a week in the medical facility. Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 I suppose it depends on the count. Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 Let’s load them up for a game winning Grand Slam in the bottom of the 9th!!! Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 BTW, nice job by Coffey in a non-pressure situation. Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 Come on, Reds!!! Give us something great to talk about!!! Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 Ex-Red Brandon Watson looks to extend his AAA hitting streak to 40 games tonight. BTW, what’s the timeline on Guardado? Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 It’s a start!!! river rat 06/14/2007 Any one of the next three guys can tie this game… DevilsAdvocate 06/14/2007 Well – no matter how bad the bullpen gets, it’s funny how the Reds always seem to at least bring up the tying run in the ninth. river rat 06/14/2007 Please don’t walk Griffey…Please don’t walk Griffey…Please don’t walk Griffey… Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 It is up to Dunn river rat 06/14/2007 Hit the homer then get traded… Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 Dunn in the hole Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 Fizzle Matt W 06/14/2007 They at 5/3 last night that they thought Eddie would rejoin the team in Seattle Y-City Jim 06/14/2007 Is he not way ahead of schedule? Glenn 06/14/2007 If Narron EVER uses Majewski again, he’s an idiot! If talent were dynamite, he wouldn’t have enough to blow his nose. Matt W 06/14/2007 Not for sure what the schedule was; there was an article yesterday in the DDN about him being ready after going in back to back games over the weekend in AAA ChicagoRedsFan 06/14/2007 The Reds are 3-7 in games that the Majewk Man has appeared in this season… ChicagoRedsFan 06/14/2007 I’d take Cormier over Majewski any day!
