Yeah, it’s a little late, but since we’ve honored our Minor League Players of the Month for April, we need to award the Redleg Nation Player of the Month for the major league club. Is there any surprise:
In April, Josh resurrected a career that seemed lost just a few short months ago. His numbers for the month couldn’t have been expected by anyone: a .266 BA, 4 doubles, 6 homers, an OPS of 974 which includes a slugging percentage of .609! Add in the remarkable maturity he has shown at the plate, and you have a player on the verge of instant stardom.
And none of that addresses the fact that Josh Hamilton is the feel-good story of the year. Heck, it’s a comeback unlike any I’ve ever seen in sports. I don’t know if we’ll ever see anything like it again, but I’m glad we’re getting the opportunity to witness this spectacle first-hand.
Redleg Nation congratulates Josh Hamilton on winning the April Player of the Month award, and we wish him the very best as he continues to grow as a player, and as a person.
