I see that Baseball Reference, an indispensible resource if ever there were one, will now be updating current season stats daily. I’ve been waiting for that.

Now all that site needs is minor league stats! Apparently that is in the works, though I’ll be pleasantly surprised if it arrives this season. I’m glad we have the Cube, but it’s missing a few key items (most notably HBP, but also BF by pitchers) that mess up some of my calculations for minor leaguers.

Still, B-R is an outstanding resource, particularly in how it is connected to the retrosheet database. I love how easy it is to move from team stats–>player stats–>box scores and play by play data. Just did that last night to find David Ross’s home run off of Mark Grace: http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/ARI/ARI200209020.shtml
