This is a very interesting take on the whole Extra Innings/DirectTV/mlb.tv situation. Probably the most sophisticated analysis I’ve seen yet, because it comes from a business viewpoint.
Very, very interesting article, and I’d encourage everyone interested in the topic to check it out. The whole thing doesn’t really affect me (I already subscribe to Extra Innings via DirecTV, as well as MLB.tv), but I’ve been trying to figure out MLB’s thought process on this subject.
The article linked above makes a pretty good argument that MLB has done a very smart thing.
