Welcome to the first installment of Redleg Nation Radio.

I thought today’s off-day would be a good time to introduce a new feature here at RN. Eventually, we plan to have regular Reds-related podcasts and other audio features (though we could never be as entertaining as Red Hot Mama‘s podcasts, I’m sure). As soon as I get time to set it up, you’ll be able to subscribe via iTunes to the podcasts.

Anyway, our first audio feature is an episode of “The Dizzy Dean Radio Show” from September 11, 1948, featuring Reds Hall of Famer Ewell Blackwell. Nicknamed “The Whip,” Blackwell was a six-time All-Star and one of the greatest pitchers in Reds history.

You can download the episode here (right-click to save). If you have any trouble listening, please contact me.

Hope you enjoy. There is much more to come here at Redleg Nation.

Being a seventy-eight year old Redlegs fan, it was great to hear about The Whip, from Ole Diz, keer up the good work.
