Justin Germano took the mound and pitched pretty well. He went 6 innings, giving up 3 runs on 7 hits, and 1 base on balls. He struck out 3. As a member of the Reds organization, Germano is 2-1 with a 3.38 era. In 26.2 innings pitched, Germano has 21 Ks compared to just 1 walk. 4 other Bat relievers combined to go 3 innings of no-hit, no run baseball.

CF Chris Denorfia went 3-5 offensively with a run scored and an rbi. On the year, he’s now hitting .316/.391/.490.

AA

Mississippi 8, Chattanooga 3

Josh Hall was roughed up in the start. Hall went 5 1/3 innings, surrendering 8 runs on 11 hits while walking 3 and striking out 5. Hall had been pretty decent of late, posting a 3.55 earned run average.

High A

Clearwater 5, Sarasota 3

RF Ben Himes went 2-3 with a homerun, run scored, and 2 runs batted in. Ben improved his already impressive numbers on the season. He’s now batting .330/.367/.531 in 194 at bats.

3B Mark Schramek, former Reds number 1 draft pick in 2002, went 3-3 with a solo homerun of his own in the 9th.

Low A

Clinton 13, Dayton 8

LF Jeremiah Piepkorn went 3-4 with his team leading 18th homerun in the game. Piepkorn is slugging .507 with 67 runs batted in over a span of 341 At bats. Not bad for a free agent signee last season.
