And, Yes, it was just to screw with the Reds. Jim Bowden needs to get over it.

Bowden appears to be mucking around with Rule V pick Tony Blanco also, the following notes are from the USAToday site:
July 18 Tony Blanco, will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Tuesday, according to the AP. He is out with vertigo associated with a sinus infection.
July 13 The Nationals placed Tony Blanco on the 15-day disabled list with vertigo associated with a sinus infection, according to the AP. The move is retroactive to July 4. Blanco was hitting .250 in 39 games before suffering the injury.
July 10 The Washington Post reports that Tony Blanco is suffering from vertigo symptoms stemming from a sinus infection. It’s possible he could be placed on the disabled list after the All-Star break.
He’s hitting .286/.306/.486 in 35 AB so far at AAA New Orleans on his rehab assignment. Look for him to be there for the maximum allowable time, return to Washington for a few days, develop another nagging injury, go back on the DL, a get another rehab assignment in AAA. That ought to get him through until the rosters expands in Sep. 🙂
So we can now pick him up on waivers?
