Dragons tales: As expected Homer Bailey’s tight right shoulder passed inspection by Reds Dr. Tim Kremchek Monday and was diagnosed as just some tendinitis. He is expected to make his next start, Saturday, after being held out of Sunday’s game.
• Meanwhile right-hander Damian Ursin was put on the disabled list with right elbow strain, retroactive to Saturday. His spot on the roster was taken by righty Alexander Farfan, who is with the club even though his roster status had been with Billings, which doesn’t begin play for another month.
Also saw the first start (2nd appearance) of Joe Wilson, who came over from the Phils in the Lidle deal last year. He threw 5 innings of one hit, shutout baseball.
I’ve been a Reds fan since the late ’60’s, with my luck of being able to attend plenty of games at Riverfront during the BRM era. I was sitting in the Green Seats in the OF when Pete came home in ’84 and was in the Red seats when Glenn Braggs reached over the fence in ’90 to beat the Pirates. I have had many favorites from Jim Maloney to Johnny Bench, Barry Larkin, Adam Dunn, and Jay Bruce.
