Again, from the DDN:

Homer Bailey would have pitched the back end of Sunday’s game, except he showed up Saturday with tightness in his right shoulder.
“You don’t want to say this, but he’s a special (No. 1 draft pick) case,” Powell said. “If he doesn’t feel 100 percent, we’re going to look into it.
“(Today) he’ll go see Dr. (Tim) Kremchek in Cincinnati. I think he’ll be OK and be able to pitch on Saturday.”

I’ve been a Reds fan since the late ’60’s, with my luck of being able to attend plenty of games at Riverfront during the BRM era. I was sitting in the Green Seats in the OF when Pete came home in ’84 and was in the Red seats when Glenn Braggs reached over the fence in ’90 to beat the Pirates. I have had many favorites from Jim Maloney to Johnny Bench, Barry Larkin, Adam Dunn, and Jay Bruce.

  1. A pitcher draft in the first round out of High School with arm trouble? GET the F@!# out of here!!

  2. The Reds 1st college player taken #1 was Pat Pacillo in 83? Anyway, it’s a club culture thing that needs to be addressed.

Is Bender still around? It’s time for him to move on if he is. Terry Reynolds is known to like the HS guys as well.

This team needs a quick turn around in ML talent and HS players take too long for that to help the current team much.

  3. I dont know about other reds fans but i think after elizardo ramirez’s start on sunday they need to keep hime in the rotation to see how he’ll do after he gets a few starts under his belt!!
