I certainly hope Joel is correct:

I think the Reds are smart enough to realize that if they are going to build at all for the future, they must continue to give Felipe Lopez the opportunity to develop so that they can know for sure whether or not he is the one to hang their hat on. I have nothing against Aurilia personally, but they have to give someone a legitimate shot eventually or we will never know what the future actually holds.

I guess I don’t have that much faith that the Reds will do the right thing in this situation. Dan O’Brien and Dave Miley have shown a tendency to favor veterans, and Aurilia is nothing if not a veteran.
