Ankiel is done

Not Reds-related, but it is a division rival. It appears that Rick Ankiel will not be pitching for the Cardinals anymore. He’s decided to try to make the club as an outfielder.

What a bizarre story this has been. Ankiel was one of the more promising young pitchers in recent years, before he forgot where the strike zone was.

I wish him luck as an outfielder, but I don’t see Ankiel ever playing in the big leagues again — at least, not on a regular basis.
