Encarnacion

Enquirer ran a big article on Edwin Encarnacion this morning.

The article makes it sound like management may be questioning the Randa signing already.

There is absolutely no reason not to love this kid. He can hit, hit with power, and run. His defense has to get better, but he’s the surest prospect in this system right now, IMO.

I’ve been a Reds fan since the late ’60’s, with my luck of being able to attend plenty of games at Riverfront during the BRM era. I was sitting in the Green Seats in the OF when Pete came home in ’84 and was in the Red seats when Glenn Braggs reached over the fence in ’90 to beat the Pirates. I have had many favorites from Jim Maloney to Johnny Bench, Barry Larkin, Adam Dunn, and Jay Bruce.

  1. In my estimation the best case scenario would be for Encarnacion to tear it up at Louisville through July and then get the callup to start for Cincy when we deal Randa just before the trading deadline to another team in contention in dire need of a 3B for some C grade pitching prospect at AA.

    Later,
