Mike Costanzo went 3 for 4 with a HR. Denis Phipps went 1 for 2 with a HR and 2 BB. Neftali Soto went 2 for 3 with a 2B and a BB. Cody Puckett homered.
Chad Reineke, 4.35 ERA, got the win as he went 7 IP and allowed 2 R on 8 H and 1 BB with 5 K. Nick Masset was due to start the game as part of a rehab assignment, but did not due to a rain delay to start the game. J. J. Hoover picked up his 10th save with a scoreless 9th inning.

Huntsville 7 – Pensacola 4
Brodie Greene went 2 for 4 with a 3B and a 2B. Josh Fellhauer went 1 for 3 with 2 BB. David Vidal went 2 for 5 with a 2B. Billy Hamilton went 1 for 5 with 3 SB (125). Andrew Means went 2 for 4. Beau Mills doubled.
Kyle Lotzkar, 5.31 ERA, got no decision as he went 5 IP and allowed 3 R on 5 H and 4 BB with 1 K. Josh Ravin took the loss allowing 2 R, 1 ER, over 0.2 IP of relief.

Minor League Player of the Day: Louisville OF Cody Puckett was 2-5 with a double and homer. His numbers in AAA are .248/.313/.404. His OBP and SLG are down substantially from what he was putting up at AA.

Toledo 10 – Louisville 9
Cody Puckett was 2-5 with a double/homer, Felix Perez was 2-4 with 2 doubles and 2 walks, Corky Miller was 2-3, Henry Rodriguez was 2-4 with a homer, Mike Costanzo was 2-6 with a triple, and Denis Phipps was 2-6.
Travis Webb threw a scoreless inning, the rest of the pitching staff was pretty awful.
AA
Tennessee 6 – Pensacola 3 (7 innings DH)
No one for the Blue Wahoos had more than one hit, Bryson Smith had a triple.
Chris Manno threw 2 scoreless innings of relief.
Tennessee 3 – Pensacola 2 (7 innings DH)
David Vidal went 2-3 with a double, Mark Fleury went 2-3 with a homer.
Tony Cingrani struggled some in his start, going 4.1, allowing 3 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 3. He gave up 3 runs, but only 1 was earned. Josh Ravin threw 1.2 scoreless innings, but did give up 3 hits and a walk.
Billy Hamilton had his 4th error since being promoted. That gives him 29 errors in 94 games in the field. If the Reds are going to move him to the OF, I don’t understand what they’re waiting for.

Wirfin Obispo, 2.63 ERA, got the win as he went 5 IP and allowed 2 R on 2 H and 3 BB with 7 K. Drew Hayes and Mark Serrano each added 1 IP of scoreless relief. Wilkin De La Rosa picked up his 1st save with 1.2 IP of scoreless relief.

Minor League Player of the Day: James Allen threw 7 shutout innings. From Tom Nichols on Allen’s great game:
Allen retired the first 14 batters he faced and did not allow a hit until the sixth inning. He did not allow a runner past first base and faced only one batter over the minimum, retiring 20 of the 22 hitters over seven scoreless innings.
AAA
Buffalo 10 – Louisville 7
Cody Puckett was 1-for-3 with a walk and a 3-run homerun. Neftali Soto went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, a run scored and 2 RBI. Henry Rodriguez was 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored. Didi Gregorius extended his modest hit streak to six games with a double.
Todd Redmond (5.1ip, 5r, 9h, 1bb, 8k) was 2-for-2 at the plate, but not as consistently good on the mound.
AA
Huntsville 3 – Pensacola 2
Daniel Corcino (6ip, 2r, 5h, 1bb, 5k) gave up just 2 runs over 6 inning, notching his 6th quality start in his last 8 games.
Donald Lutz was 3-for-4 with a double and a solo homerun. Billy Hamilton extended his AA on-base streak to all 14 games he’s played for Pensacola. Hamilton went 1-for-3 with a walk, but didn’t attempt any base thievery.
