As I look into various things, I’m going to keep posting any interesting little facts I find because it’s cold and we need something to talk about, don’t we?
I think we all understand that Ryan Ludwick and Chris Heisey are the two primary LF options for the Reds. Here are the Oliver Projections for each:
Ludwick: .240/.313/.404, 0.6 WAR
Heisey: .245/.290/.404, 1.5 WAR
Heisey rated better because of defense and baserunning.
Now, here’s last year’s top draft pick, Phillip Ervin:
.254/.319/.435, 1.3 WAR
I don’t really put any stock in that, but it’s interesting and Ervin does figure to be ready pretty soon, I think.
