Indianapolis 4 – Louisville 1

Denis Phipps went 1 for 3 with his 5th HR. Emmanuel Burriss singled and stole second to account for the Bat’s only other hit in the game.

Chad Reineke got the loss as he went 6 IP and allowed 2 R on 6 H and 3 BB with 7 K. Trevor Bell added 1.1 IP of scoreless relief.

AA

Jacksonville 6 – Pensacola 5

Donald Lutz, Marquez Smith, and Danny Vicioso each went 1 for 3 with a BB. Devin Lohman hit his 6th HR. Travis Mattair tripled.

Daniel Renken got no decision as he went 6.2 IP and allowed 2 R on 5 H and 3 BB with 5 K. Drew Hayes took the loss allowing 2 R over 1.1 IP of relief.

High A

Lancaster 12 – Bakersfield 1

The Blaze managed just 3 singles in the game.

James Allen got the loss as he went 1 IP and allowed 6 R on 5 H and 2 BB with 1 K.

Low A

Dayton at Bowling Green: Postponed due to rain.

Rookie

Billings 7 – Missoula 1 ( DH Game 1 – 7 Innings )

Phil Ervin went 3 for 4 with 2 SB. Jonathan Reynoso went 2 for 4 with a 2B and a SB. Avian Rachal went 2 for 3 with a 3B, a BB, and a SB. Daniel Paula doubled.

Luke Moran got the win as he went 5.1 IP and allowed 1 R on 6 H and 1 BB with 6 K. Austin Muehring picked up his 1st save with 1.2 IP of scoreless relief.

Billings 4 – Missoula 2 ( DH Game 2 – 7 Innings )

Avian Rachal homered. Nick Benedetto tripled. Gabriel Rosa, Taylor Terrasas, and Ronald Bueno each doubled.

Austin Salter got no decision as he went 3 IP and allowed 0 R on 0 H and 0 BB with 4 K. Scott Brattvet added 1 IP of scoreless relief. Layne Somsen picked up the win allowing 2 R, 1 ER, over 1.2 IP of relief. Joe Mantoni picked up his 1st save with 1.1 IP of scoreless relief.

AZL Giants 10 – AZL Reds 1

Jose Fernandez walked twice and stole a base. The Reds managed just 4 singles in the game.

Jeremy Kivel got the loss as he went 5 IP and allowed 2 R, 1 ER, on 6 H and 0 BB with 3 K. Wagner Gomez added 1 IP of scoreless relief.

  1. Groan… went to the Wahoos game in Jax last night to support the Reds AA team and thus missed watching the no-hitter live on MLB network. To top it off after a great start from Renkin and up 5-2 after 7, the bullpen choked it away with 2 in the 8th and a walk-off HR in the 9th for a 6-5 loss. Can’t blame Delino DeShields (the next manager of the expansion Montreal Expos – you heard it here first) as he just doesn’t have anything to work with, especially with RP in the system playing a level too high thanks to the Reds bullpen injuries.

  2. It’s already time to move Ervin up to single A. His stats indicate that he isn’t even being challenged in Billings! 1.033 OPS so far
