Mike Hessman went 2 for 4 with a HR and a BB. Emmanuel Burriss went 3 for 4 with a 2B. Neftali Soto went 2 for 5. Denis Phipps went 1 for 3 with a 2B and 2 BB.

Greg Reynolds got the win as he went 6.1 IP and allowed 2 R, 1 ER, on 10 H and 0 BB with 8 K. Zach Duke added 1.2 IP of scoreless relief. Nick Christiani got his 2nd save with 0.2 IP of scoreless relief.

AA

Pensacola 4 – Jacksonville 3 ( Final in 5+ Innings Due to Rain )

Travis Mattair went 1 for 1 with a BB.

Ryan Dennick got the win as he went 5 IP and allowed 3 R on 5 H and 4 BB with 0 K.

High A

Lancaster 8 – Bakersfield 5

Ryan Wright went 2 for 5 with a HR. Juan Duran went 2 for 4 with a 2B. Yovan Gonzalez went 3 for 4. Juan Perez went 2 for 4 with 2 SB. Juan Silva homered.

Jon Moscot got no decision as he went 5 IP and allowed 3 R on 4 H and 3 BB with 5 K. Sean Lucas got the loss allowing 2 R over 0.1 IP of relief.

Low A

South Bend 5 – Dayton 4 ( 12 Innings )

Beau Amaral went 2 for 5 with a 2B. Junior Arias went 2 for 5 with a SB.

Nick Travieso got no decision as he went 6 IP and allowed 4 R on 5 H and 3 BB with 6 K. Joel Bender and Kyle McMyne each added 2 IP of scoreless relief. Jesus Adames took the loss allowing 1 R over 1.2 IP of relief.

Rookie

Billings 3 – Great Falls 1

Daniel Paula went 2 for 4 with a 2B. Jose Ortiz doubled.

Pedro Diaz got the win as he went 6 IP and allowed 1 R on 4 H and 2 BB with 2 K. Werleen Taveras added 2 IP of scoreless relief. Abel De Los Santos picked up his 2nd save with a scoreless 9th inning.

AZL Rangers 3- AZL Reds 2 ( 10 Innings )

Jose Fernandez went 3 for 4 with a SB. Oviel Florentino walked twice. Jose Duarte and Dalton Carter each doubled.

Manuel Aybar got no decision as he went 5 IP and allowed 1 R on 5 H and 1 BB with 3 K. Tyler Mahle (2 IP) and Soid Marquez (1 IP) each added scoreless relief outings. Oswaldo Mieres got the loss while allowing 2 R, 1 ER, over 1.2 IP of relief.

  1. De Los Santos at Billings has faced 13 hitters, given up no walks or hits, and has struck out 8. He’s been in the organization for a couple of years at the Dominican and Arizona rookie league.

  2. Also, no international signings by the Reds. Again. It’s really insane when you think about how many of the top and up and coming players were international signs– including Chapman and Cueto. I don’t think I’ve a single one in the last two or three years, excepting Chapman of course (and who wasn’t in on him?)
