    • @raw24: Dayton’s Jesse Winker left the game in the third inning for precautionary reasons due to a possible calf strain.

    • @rfay00: When Arredondo was DFA’d out of ST, I suspected that the Reds were going to try and convert him over to a starter, but then they didn’t stretch him out during his 1st month with the Bats. That may still be in the cards. His outing last night was 3.0 innings and 34 pitches (26 strikes!) with 0 hits, 0 BB and 5 SO. That was an exceptional performance.

Arredondo is an enigma. He has great stuff and is still under 30, so he has major league potential. His WHIP is 1.07, his SO/BB is 2.08, his SO/9 is a whopping 15.0 & his H/9 is only 2.4 with 0 HR. Those are very good numbers, but then he has 7.2 BB/9 which is horrendous. If Ted Power can help him reduce those BB, we will see Arredondo back on the major league roster.

  1. I was at the game in Louisville, and I was shocked when Arrendando strolled out to the mound for the eighth inning. Dude was dominating and looked mighty impressive. I’m sure it helped that Leigh Valley is heavily left handed, but the bottom line is Arrendando was unhittable. It never crossed my mind that they may be stretching him out to start. Has he ever started.
Also, Diaz is one HUGE dude!

@MikeZ: Arredondo has never started at the major-league level.
