Bryson Smith and Ryan LaMarre each went 2 for 4 with a 2B. Brodie Greene went 2 for 4. Donald Lutz clubbed his 4th HR. Devin Lohman doubled.

Josh Smith got the win as he went 5 IP and allowed 2 R on 6 H and 2 BB with 4 K. Yohan Pino added 2 IP of scoreless relief. Curtis Partch recorded his 3rd save by retiring the final batter.

High A

Inland Empire 7 – Bakersfield 2

Juan Perez went 2 for 3 with 2 2B, 2 BB, and a SB. Joe Terry went 3 for 5 with a 2B.

Jonathan Moscot took the loss as he went 4.1 IP and allowed 6 R on 9 H and 2 BB with 1 K. Brian Pearl added 2 IP of scoreless relief.

Low A

Lake County 10 – Dayton 4

Junior Arias went 2 for 4 with a HR. Jeff Gelalich went 2 for 4 with a SB. Nick O’Shea doubled.

Wandy Peralta got the loss as he went 3.2 IP and allowed 6 R, 5 ER, on 8 H and 2 BB with 2 K. Alejandro Chacin (1.2 IP) and Sean Lucas (1 IP) each added scoreless relief outings.

  2. The Blue Wahoos OF is starting to crank things into gear. Over his past 6 games Big Don has a slash line of .333/.409/.555, although he still had a SO% over 22%. Over his past 8 games Smith has a slash line of .416/.500/.541. Over his past 8 games LaMarre has a slash line of .321/.387/.392. With the pitiful hitting from the Bats OF so far this season, the Reds may need one or more of these players to really step up within the next year or two.
