2013 Reds

My first Christmas present of the season

At our family Christmas Eve celebration last night, my nephew came up and slipped this in my pocket…he said he’d come across it and KNEW I’d love it.

He’s a funny, funny guy.

Merry Christmas, Redleg Nation!!!

Let’s hope for a World Championship in our stocking this year.

  1. A cold OTR behind first base … $9.00
Three skyline dogs with everything in Section 524 … $11.25
Your first Dusty Baker Topps card … Priceless.

    • It’s not even a rookie card. The value is roughly the same value as Tracy Jone’s Mariner card.

It’s the thought that counts…and he was thinking of trying to aggravate me.

  2. WJ not through with his shopping. Reds are trying to obtain the A’s Sean Doolittle or the Jays’ Aaron Loup. Either would be good and would help. Loup would be most logical, it would be a little easier to get a deal done, since the Jays have about 35 guys signed for 25 roster spots.

    • @WVRedlegs:

Reds are trying to obtain the A’s Sean Doolittle or the Jays’ Aaron Loup.

Where did you see this little tidbit? Those are certainly two interesting names. Both are under team control until 2019 and both had very successful rookie seasons out of the bullpen in very differnt waysn with very different paths to the majors.

  3. @WVRedlegs: Aaron Loup’s stats are very nice. < 1.0 WHIP, 0 HR/9, 10.5 SO/BB Of course he's only pitched 30.2 inning in the bigs and zero innings in AAA. His minor league stats make me worry a bit if he'll come back down to earth…. or worse, if he'll make a crater when he does.

  4. Jon Heyman‏ from CBS reports that the Brew Crew has agreed to a deal with Mike Gonzalez. Apparently its for 1 year @ $2.25MM+.

This is good news for the Reds snce the Reds will not be even considering signing Gonzalez now. I’m not sure that they had any serious consideration in that regard, but there had been some mention and discussion of that possibility.
