Down on the Farm – Playoff Edition

Game Played on 09/11/12

High A

Modesto 3 – Bakersfield 2

The Blaze blew a 2-0 lead, giving up the winning run in the bottom of the 8th.

Dominic D’Anna went 2-3 with a walk and drove in both Blaze runs. Chris Berset went 2-4 and Theo Bowe went 2-5.

Bakersfield got a strong start out of Daniel Renken, going 5 innings, allowing only 1 run on 5 hits, a walk, and 5 strikeouts.

Michael Dennhardt came in and was (according to the Blaze game report) “in a strange turn” left in for a 3rd inning of work (the 8th)…after getting a strikeout on his 36th pitch, he gave up two hits before Griffey Sr. went to the pen. Daniel Wolford came on and gave up an RBI single.

The series is tied 2-2 with the final game tonight at Modesto.

  1. Thanks Bill for all the hard work you’ve done over the past several years on DOTF. Both you and Greg have done great job with these each morning.

  2. Thanks, TC. I was a newbie to DOTF this year. Tom Diesman contibuted to this series 3 days a week this year and also contributed a lot in prior years. I think the Reds still have a lot of talent in the farm system. It will be interesting to see how it develops over the next few years.
