AAA

Buffalo 6 – Louisville 4

Juan Francisco went 3-5 with a homerun and 2 rbis.  The homerun was Juan’s 2nd of the season.  He is now batting .145/.167/.290 with 22 strikeouts in 69 at-bats.  Wilkin Castillo, Drew Sutton, and Chris Valaika each went 2-5 in the loss.  Castillo doubled and drove in a run while Valaika added an rbi.

Travis Wood allowed 2 runs on 6 hits while striking out 5 in 6 innings of work.  Logan Ondrusek pitched 2 scoreless innings of relief, allowing 1 hit while striking out 2.  Logan has allowed 1 earned run in 6 innings of work since being sent down to Louisville.

AA

Mobile 4 – Carolina 2

The Mudcats only managed 5 hits in the game.  Kris Negron supplied most of the offense for Carolina by going 1-5 with a solo homerun.  The homerun was his 2nd of the season. 

Daryl Thompson pitched 6 strong innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits and a walk.  He struck out 3 and lowered his ERA to 3.63.  Daryl Harang picked up the loss by allowing 2 runs on 2 hits and a walk in an inning of relief.

High A

Potomac 11 – Lynchburg 6

Neftali Soto went 3-5 with a double, rbi, and 2 runs scored.  Cody Puckett went 2-4 with a double, walk, and a run scored.  Byron Wiley went 2-4 with 2 singles.  Finally, the red-hot Devin Mesoraco went 1-3 with a homerun, 2 walks, 2 rbis, and 2 runs scored.  Devin is now batting .310/.398/.620 on the season with 6 homeruns and 17 rbis.  There will be more on Devin later in the week.

The pitching was putrid in this loss by the Hillcats.

Dayton and Bowling Green will play a double-header on Monday.  Dayton and Bowling Green will attempt to play on Monday.

  • I got an announcement that yesterday’s Dragons rain out will be made up at part of a day/night DH on 5/22. The makeup game will be played at noon.

  • My mistake. I saw the 2:00 start time for Sunday, and the 7:00 start time for Monday on the scheduel and assumed it was a DH for Monday.

    Juan Francisco is batting .145/.167/.290 with 22 strikeouts in 69 at-bats at AAA…Wow! And the powers that be had THIS guy break camp and head north with the big club…Why? I know, I know – he had a good Spring, but still.
