JustTheFacts: I typically go to about 5 to 10 games a year. I’d like to double it this year. Goal of 15 home games.
I’m envious. With the move to Arizona and no more Florida State League team, this will be the first year in quite a while that we won’t see the Reds in person.
I guess I’d resolve to continue to follow the young guys as they move up through the levels, in addition to watching mlb.com probably more than is healthy….
@RedinFla: I assumed you are in Florida with your handle. I work 2 minutes from GABP so going to games is very easy. That’s why it is embarrassing that I only go to a pultry few games a year. I bet if you lived within an hour you’d go to a lot more than 5 to 10 games a year.
RedinFla: @nick in va: Will we remember that seven months from now? I hope so..If the Reds make the playoffs, I’ll drive to Cincinnati to celebrate in the street.
At the rate we’re going, it’ll be ten below zero when the Reds clinch the Central! I may have to forget my promise.
p.s. …and I don’t mean, like, “when hell freezes over.” But, hey — that’s what it’s looking like on the weather channel, so maybe we have a chance at the playoffs after all.
My personal record’s 15 games in ‘06, when I set (and met!) a goal of going to at least one game per home stand, plus a couple others.
I live in Newport, so I can walk to games and buy a $5 ticket from the scalper on the bridge, which saves a lot. It also helped that I got laid off in August and paid through September that year (hello, businessman specials!). But now I work until 8-ish, so I can’t go unless the stars align at work or I miss the first couple of innings (which I hate — the best part of the game are the moments right before the first pitch, because you never know what you might see this time!).
I have 5 sons. I’ve taken the older guys to Reds games but not the younger two. Shame on me! My goal is to catch a game with all of them this year before my #2 son gets married (June 6th).

If the Reds make the playoffs I’ll grow a Bo Diaz mustache.

…and I’ll get some Chris Sabo goggles in place of my regular pair of glasses.
@RedinFla: I’ll remember. I’m not sure how happy my wife will be, but it’ll be worth suffering the consequences if the Reds are in the playoffs.

@Travis G.:
I even like watching the players during the national anthem — Jay Bruce couldn’t stand still in class A, and it appears he still can’t.
